Geometry Styling

Overview

The Geometry Styling tab contains these configurations relating specifically to the geometry style:

  • Colour
  • Size
  • Offset
  • Rotation
  • Opacity

Note that the styling options will be trimmed based on Mapworks' understanding of the layer's geometry type, but all options can be made available by checking "Show options for all geometry types".

To configure geometry styles:

  1. In the sidebar, select the Layers tab
  2. Right click the layer and click Styles

Colour

Select from preset swatches or enter a hex colour code. The previous colour is retained on the left next to the new colour and may restored when clicked.

The colour swatches that appear are dependant on the layer type, but include the following:

  • Line Colour
  • Outline Colour (Polygons / Points)
  • Inner Colour (Polygons / Points)

Geometry colour

Size

The sizes that appear are dependant on the layer type, but include the following:

  • Line Width
  • Point Size
  • Outline Size (Polyons / Points)

Offset & Rotation

Point features can be configured to display as offset from their actual geographic location by up to ±20 units in both X or Y axis and can be rotated up to 360°. This is applicable where a point is rendered with a glyph that contains specific features such as a pointer arrow.

Opacity can be configured on both inner and outer elements of a feature as applicable.
